Winter may drive most folks indoors, but anyone who lives up north knows that ice fishing is a better way to spend the season. This cover by Robert Doares (who snuck his signature into the weathervane) shows a whole village camped on a frozen lake, with their tents, cars, and ice shanties stretching to the horizon. If you look closely, you’ll spot a coffee and donut vendor, a pack of friendly dogs, a makeshift bait shop, tip ups, and plenty of fat fish being pulled through the ice.
